Account Spec Sheet?

On 12/1 Dean indicated there would be a spec sheet for accounts posted soon: http://forum.textdrive.com/viewtopic.ph … 044#p65044

On 12/13 he indicated it was coming as soon as he could "pry open a particular section of the textdrive.com rails site" (who knew it would be so hard to publish a page? Glad I don't use RoR :)

It's now Day 19... any sign yet?

Re: Account Spec Sheet?

I don't understand how pointing me to a deleted thread helps. I'm not being unpleasant-- I'm recapping the history for those who don't know it and asking if the promised spec sheet in question has been posted yet?

I even posted with a little smiley thing in there, like this ":)"

Sorry fncll! Have made you feel that way.

I just added one step further to the history. That thread was on 12/16 and was talking about the same subject. :)

Oh, I got it-- I thought you were sending a different "message" :) We'll see what happens-- I know TxD folks are busy, but they could just post the info to an announcement here (or the blog) in the interim...

Similarly, I didn't understand how deleting the thread helped. Because this new thread offers evidence the question will come up again.

But then, I don't understand much of anything anymore.

As I understand it, that thread turned rather nasty, and clearing that sort of thing out does seem to be a standing policy.

But then, I don't understand much of anything anymore.

Re: Account Spec Sheet?

That thread did get awfully nasty. I was in the mix, and said a few things that I now sincerely regret. I'm just as happy that it's deleted - it's not nice to be reminded of when you're not nice.

Anyways, the message that I came away with was A) Don't hit the submit key unless you're really ready to piss someone else off, and B) please be patient.

I've taken that question into its own thread to help keep this one on-topic.

Re: Account Spec Sheet?

Oh, good morning. Here are specs for all VC accounts btw (these will appear at /vc whenever I get around to it):

  • 2Gb disk space
  • 15 domains
  • 20Gb monthly bandwidth

In addition, all VCs will be required to:

  • "go commando" one day a month to their place of employ (or desk if they're SOHO)
  • learn the opening passage to Stairway to Heaven on ukelele
  • eat more bacon

    That is all.

  • Just try to stop me.
  • I can learn, just let me find a uke.
  • More than?

And: just curious (I'll never use them all) is there a limit to databases for VC accounts? Is it different between mysql and postgresql?

Fajitas? Yeah. Kinda. It's when one's fajitas are unfettered, or unconstrained if you will. Um, here.

BTW, since I'm here, and purely out of casual interest since I'm up to a whole 50MB right now, when do our disk quotas jump?

Great news on the new specs. However, what are we vegetarian Textdrivers to do? Can I just encourage my friends to make up for my lack of bacon consumption? :-p

Re: Account Spec Sheet?

Thanks for bump in our quotas - it is very much appreciated!! :)

I'm one of the VC200, on One, but am still showing only 1 Gb disk space as my quota. Have all the VC accounts been upgraded to the new disk space/bandwidth/domain quotas yet, or is the process still going on?

Also, my VC offering gave us 20 mySQL databases. Will the amount of mySQL databases be increased as well, or remain at 20?
