Because it just continues to annoy the crap out of me. I've posted on the Marsedit forums. I've posted on the Textpattern forums. Daniel Jalkut was very gracious and helpful, though he ultimately couldn't solve the issue.

I'm working on about three Textpattern blogs and each one misfires with Marsedit in a different way. One gives the dreaded "problem_creating_article" error. The other only works properly with the Metaweblog API (which is fine, I guess, but the lack of support for excerpts/extended entries is a pain). The third has multiple sections, but damned if I know how I can get Marsedit to recognise that. (Changing the "blog ID" setting does nothing).

Don't get me started on the fun I had trying to get Textmate's blogging tool to work.

Is the XML-RPC engine in Textpattern just terminally crap? Has there been a single bug-fix committed to it in a year?

Sorry. Venting. Textpattern is what drew me to Textdrive in the first place. I'm just sad that an app that once was light-years ahead of everything else is lagging on basic issues like XML-RPC support.
